Are dogs allowed on trains?

It is a fact of common sense that dogs are usually not accepted in trains, but there are some exceptions. In some countries, the legislation forbids people from bringing dogs on trains, but there are some special trains with dogs compartments, separated from humans, where those could stay.

If you plan to bring your dog on board of a train, it is important to ask the railroad company before doing that. Otherwise, you might end up leaving your dog at the station, and you will probably lose your ticket because of that.

Is dog food good for dogs?

It might sound like a weird question, but lately, many dog food manufacturers try to cut the costs of producing dog food by using harmful substances for making the dog food. Some is made of dead animals, skin and hair of animals, processed mechanically. Moreover, the smell is given with artificial substances, which are just as harmful. If you want to avoid bad dog food, make sure to buy only the one made by accepted manufacturers that you know and trust, because this is the only way to make sure that your dog is safe.

How dogs see?

Dogs have a great vision, allowing them to see in the night. The dogs are always alert, and if you wake up a dog in the middle of the night, his vision will be adapted to the environment in a few seconds. Of course, this also depends on the race of the dog, but the majority of them are pretty great at detecting the slightest move in the dark. The dogs that have a great vision are usually used for hunting or guarding, but any dog has a better vision than the majority of humans.

Are dogs color blind?

The dogs are able to distinguish and to make the difference between colors, but it is supposed that they see other colors. For example, what we see as blue might be green for them, and a white might be green. Unfortunately, we can’t check those affirmations if we can’t talk with the dog’s, can’t we? The theories issued since now about how dogs see are not generally accepted, but we know for sure that dogs make a difference between colors.

Are dogs carnivores?

Dogs are generally carnivores, and this is why meat must not miss from their alimentation. A problem might be the fact that some people try to offer a “healthy” lifestyle to their dogs, by feeding those with vegetarian products. This is not a good idea, because a dog needs meat at least once a day. It is true that a dog eating only meat will probably develop some stomach problems, but no meat at all is just as harmful. This is why you should establish the alimentation of your dog based on what the veterinarian told you.

How dogs mate?

Dogs mate only when the females are in heat. This happens once or twice a month, and it is one of the most annoying periods for the dog’s master. During those periods, the females howl, looking for a partner, and this might also mean that other dogs in the neighborhood are alerted. If you want to eliminate this inconvenient, you should castrate the female dog. Well, it is recommended for any female dog to have at least one series of puppies, but after that, you can consider castration.

How dogs drink water?

Dogs drink water in a rather funny way, by licking it! By using their tongue, they “throw” the water in their stomach. Some dogs are pretty funny when they do so, being stars on the internet. It is important to ensure enough quantity of water to your dog, because sometimes, it is more important than the food. Dogs can’t live without water, and even if you give them enough food, their digestion will be affected in the lack of water. It is also forbidden to give dogs alcohol or juices. Maybe some milk now and then will be appreciated, but don’t overreact with it.

When dogs attack?

The attack behavior of a dog depends on the race. While the majority of them attack if they were trained to do so, there are also some dogs that attack without an apparent reason. It happens rarely, and there are only dogs of certain races that have this behavior. Even so, with some training, you can be sure that your dog will not attack randomly, and that it will be submissive to you. It is important to impose yourself in front of your dog, and to teach him when to attack, because otherwise, you might end up with a dog that everybody fears.

How dogs were domesticated?

It is supposed that men domesticated the dogs 15 000 years ago, as a source of food. Their fur was also used to make clothes. Later, when humans domesticated other animals, the dogs were only used for guarding. It is supposed that the domesticating process lasted for quite a while. The humans used to steal puppies from wild dogs, raising them in captivity. When the dogs grew, they were domesticated. It sounds simple, but the ancient dogs were not as kind and peaceful as the ones from today.

When dogs throw up?

Dogs throw up when they have stomach problems, but sometimes, it does not necessarily means that they are sick. Dogs need to eat grass after eating, and they will also throw it up a little later. It is not a sign that the dog is sick. On the contrary. A healthy dog is able to eliminate the grass, while for the ones that are not so great with their stomach, the grass will be digested along with the rest of the food. If your dog throws up more than grass, it means that he might be sick, so you should consult a veterinarian.

When dogs eat grass

Usually, dogs eat grass after they eat. Even if they are carnivores, they need the grass for digestion. It is just like their salad, with the difference that the majority of dogs vomit the grass after eating it. You should know that there is no danger, and that the dog is not sick. It is simply a natural method to clean the intestines, and to help the digestion. A dog that eats grass will remain healthy for a longer time. It is a pity that some people consider this as a sign of sickness, when in fact the dog only enjoys his meal better by eating a little grass.

Why dogs howl

Dogs are related to wolves, and even if 15 000 years of domesticating changed some of their characteristics, there are still many in common. One of them would be howling, which is in fact one of the most important methods of communication for dogs.

The dogs howl to express their dominance over a territory or over a certain place. This is a warning for other dogs that they should stay away from that place. It is a little ridiculous when you see a puddle howling in the middle of the yard, but the dog wants to express the same thing. Another reason for that is communication. Dogs howl when they hear another howl, and this way, the “message” transmitted in the entire area.

Why dogs lick people

Dogs eat grass because it helps them in their digestion. Some people think that dogs only eat grass when they are sick. It is not true. If a dog lives in a yard, he will probably eat grass after each meal. Moreover, the majority of them will vomit the grass after 10-15 minutes.

Don’t you like a salad with your steak? No matter what the dog eats, the grass is helpful. Sure, there are apartment dogs that don’t eat grass, and they don’t feel like eating it. You will not have to pick up fresh grass every morning for the dog, but you should know that taking the dog out in the park after eating is a good idea.

When dogs die

The life duration of a dog depends on many aspects, but the most important of them is the race and the nutrition. The bigger dogs live longer, while the smaller ones don’t live that much. Even so, with a good nutrition and by respecting the indications of the veterinarian, you can prolong the life of your beloved pet. A dog lives for 7-15 years, but some dogs can live even longer. There are also the dogs that get sick easily, which might die a lot faster than initially expected. If you want a dog, make sure that you can take care of him, if you don’t want to regret it later.

Where dogs like to be rubbed

Dogs like to be rubbed because it is a sign of affection from people. As for the places where they like to be rubbed, it depends on the dog. There are dogs that like to be rubbed on their bellies, while others want to be rubbed on their back. It is not even about the race, but about the dog. If you intend to buy a puppy, don’t try to anticipate how he or she likes to be rubbed, because it is impossible. What you can know is the fact that they will surely appreciate a rub.
